Little "S" is now 2 months old! Here
are her stats:
Height : 0
percentile
Weight: 1st
percentile (8 lb. 6 oz.)
Head
Circumference: 12th percentile
She is still itty bitty but seems big to me
compared to what she used to be. She is on her last pack of newborn diapers and
some of her newborn clothes are too small. (depending on the brand) Her 0-3
months clothes are too big still but I am sure she will grow into them a little
better in the next few weeks.
Here are
Scarlett's milestones:
Rolling over
tummy to back: 7 weeks
Social
smile: 7 1/2 weeks
Grasping
things ( my hair, her blankets, etc.): 8 weeks
First cooing
sounds: 8 1/2 weeks
Sleeping
through the night: oh wait she only did that once!
Right now we are
working on sleep. Scarlett is a terrible sleeper. She started out pretty good
and has gone downhill since she got reflux. I recently started a bedtime
routine in hopes to get little S to sleep a little longer. We give her a bath,
lotion her up, put her in warm jammies, and listen to music while she drinks
her bottle. It hasn't made her sleep longer but it does make her very comfortable
and relaxed. I have also been putting her down for naps in her crib so we can
transition her into her room in the next little while. Most of the time she
will only nap 30 - 45 minutes. It's amazing how much you learn to get done in
45 minutes!
The other day I
took her to city creek to go for a walk. She slept 4 hours while I pushed her
in her stroller! Unfortunately I can't (nor am I willing to) push her around
twice a day for four hours. Though I was happy to see that she is at least
capable of taking that long of a nap. Once in a blue moon I guess. The movement
soothes her tummy ache, which is why she does really well in her swing but she
can't sleep in her swing forever.
She
is developing quite the little personality. When she wants our attention she
does this little yell thing. She squeaks and stops repeatedly as if she is
saying "I am warning you, I am starting to get bugged." She slowly
gets louder and louder. If she doesn't get what she wants after a few minutes
she breaks out into her dramatic, screaming wail.
Yesterday
we tried the nap thing for over an hour. She kept crying so I concluded after
awhile that she wasn't tired anymore. I finally went in and got her and picked
her up (after she had been screaming) and she calmed right down of course. I
called her a little stinker and she looked up at me and smiled and did this
little laugh noise. She was perfectly content after that. Why do I get the
feeling she is trying to work the system already?
Her
favorite thing lately is standing up on my lap. When I sit her on my lap she
kicks until I hold her up so she can stand. She looks around, smiles and then
starts shaking her arms. She gets so excited that she just can't contain
herself so she just has to shake.
Here
are some of our favorite pictures from this last month:

Sleep is such a struggle! I just wanted to let you know that Mack slept a ton in his swing, he would usually start in his crib and then end up in his swing to make him sleep longer and now at 7 months he wants nothing to do with it and weaned himself and sleeps great! So don't be worried about letting her sleep in there if it means everyone is happier, one day she won't like it. Good luck!
